What you actually take home

Danish driver pay is not set by a statutory minimum, which is why it lands high by European standards. Figures below are gross and net monthly averages for 2026.

RoleGross / monthTypical experience
Van driver, inside the city28,000–39,000 DKK0–2 years
Domestic rigid truck driver (C)29,000–39,000 DKK2–5 years
International CE / long-haul37,000–45,000 DKK3+ years
Senior / specialist contractsup to 49,000 DKK8+ years

Figures shown are gross, before tax. Denmark's typical combined deduction is roughly 37–38% (8% labour-market contribution, national and municipal income tax), so actual take-home varies by municipality and personal allowance. This is guidance, not a payslip — always confirm terms in your written contract.

Same role, by city

Copenhagen carries the highest cost of living and the highest pay bands. Aarhus and Aalborg run roughly 1,000 DKK/month lower, gross, for the same role and experience level.
